Can anyone advise on free camping on the Beach around these areas.

You are going to be lucky to find anything free these days around there. I spent three weeks at Smalleys Beach at Cape Hislborough National Park (https://www.epa.qld.gov.au/parks/iaparks/gds/IAGDS020.do?parkId=57) once and had a ball.

Theres a great little free camp spot at carmilla, south of sarina, right on the beach to the south of a little creek. We stayed there mid last year, fished SP's in the morning at the creek mouth, got 30+ flatties in under 2 hours, nearly all were legal with a few big ones thrown in for good measure.

i know a bit further south you have stanage.....its free there and its allowed
