Here's the big question. I have an Engel 60Ltr Fridge Freezer with the Twozone 60Ltr attachment (I know Overkill right, but 3 Boys and alot of fishing trips caters for the size).

What I would like to know is, does anyone out there run a solar power kit to run their Engel, if so what sort of setup do you hand and what is the ball park $$$$ figure I should be looking at.

Reason for wanting to go Solar is for longer fishing trip up here in NQ/Gulf Country etc. So that I don't have to rely on Powered sites as my home base and use a generator for emergency only...

Good or Bad feedback most welcome

Solar panels will cost you from about $500 each plus cable, regulators etc. Try Val at http://www.fridge-and-solar.net/solar.htm

Just got the kit for dual battery system from him last week.

I can also recommend Val at Fridge and Solar. He knows his stuff and is very helpful.

You will need a couple of decent panels as your fridge will draw a bit. But in the very least, you should be able to reduce running the gennie from every day to every few days.
