Does anyone know where you can take gas bottles, that have gone past their 'used by' date, to be retested and stamped? There is no rust or corrosion on these bottles.
Your help is greatly appreciated,
Wags

CIG gasses at Ipswich Rd Rocklea used to do them.
I think they go by the name BOC gasses now? They should still do them.
Ring them, they will probably tell you where in your area you can get it done.
Mike
Our local council takes them at the tip. (Logan)
All the best for the season.

Your nearly better off getting a new one for the price of testing.
Check out the price differance, I have found replacing a better option.

Yea I would say Swap and Go, although to swap a cylinder the cylinder must be in good order and not have passed its used by date....
But try your luck, if you get my drift......

Hi Bootyin blue and others
If you have a good quality "Made in Japan" cylinder; advice a week ago from the gas certification guy who checked and restamped my Jap cylinder was to keep them as the new Chineese cylinders are of much lesser quality. Mind you he put it a lot less politely ;D
Cheers
Chimo
PS Booty check you PMs

LOL... Will be climbing through the Swap and Go cages looking for a Japanse one then and punting all the made in china ones. But with the way I go through gas with the BBQ they are only sitting around for a few weeks before going back anyway.
