My son's new Sic Stik Pro 6-10 kg baitcast rod snapped the third time he used it, so he "tossed" it (to me) and went up-market. I am thinking of stripping the mostly unused guides from the blank pieces and using them on a 4-8 kg baitcast rod I am going to make for Mangrove Jack baiting, but I don't know anything about the guides Strudwick used, and cant find any solid info on line as Strudwicks long gone. Anyone know for sure what make / model / material they are?

If you put up a few photos of the guides - someone will be able to tell you .......

From memory they were a Fuji alconite guide - so you might find it here

They might be Fuji it should be stamped on the frame as for the ring type may be alconite or lower grade rings on them,my mate had a Strudwick and we could it a brittle stick he got 2 replacements before he gave up ,I’d be getting a new set of Frazlites or alconites Fuji guides and start fresh if your building a new stick then if you brake a guide you can buy a new one as you might not be able to match a old guide.

Thanks Chris, some additional info - they are a “double foot, 3 leg guide” and have a black insert ring (can’t see a shock ring), and the stripping guide is 22mm high, 30 mm long and 26.5mm outside dia, the ring is 11mm ID and about 14 mm OD. The rod is probably 12 years old

Well if there black rings they might not be alconite rings and some fuji guide you can see FUJI stamped on them, the ring you measured is a size 16 for the first guide.

The rod might have 8 guides on it 16-12-10-8-7-6-6-6-tip.

Guides were 14, 10, 10, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, tip 8, maybe i'm overthinking this and the ring type is in the name ie SiC = Silicon Carbide

I doubt they were Sic guides - the guides would be worth more than the rod

You usually wouldn't find Sic guides on a rod under $400 ## back then & those snap sticks were less than $200

A SiC (silicon carbide) ring looks shinier & darker than an alconite ring
