Hi all,

has anyone successfully insured an outboard engine on its own?

im in the process of having a boat built but it’s been delayed by a few months .
so I have an outboard sitting in my shed worth a lot of money I’d like to insure.
aswell as transporting it to the boat building company come time to install.

I cannot find anyone who will insure it on its own.

any help would be appreciated

Check your household insurance, it might be covered while it's there, and your car insurance might cover it during transport?

Hide an apple air tag inside the box. Cheap insurance and maybe get yourself a wireless camera in motion and sound detect. Problem solved

Take the bottom end off ( gear box ) if some one sees it they might think twice about stealing it as it’s not complete.

As Noelm says, add it as a specific value item to your house contents insurance.
