I was under the boat trying to implement a temporary fix to my rear rollers, need to replace the rubber inserts as they kick back to far. Anyway I ran my hand over the transducer and found some rough areas at the front where it has possibly been hit by something in the water. I have some resin left over from a windscreen chip repair which seems to stick like mud and spreads easily, so was wondering if I could use that to fix the tranny, probably one of the reasons why under speed my screen is breaking up.

I just have to find something that I can use to smooth it out properly. Or is there something better to use.

Col, fortunately where the boat is, if I remove the tranny I can turn it so it faces the sun, just. The reason I thought of this method is that the process spreads a thin surface surrounding the chip/crack and wiper blades constantly going over it doesn't cause it to lift. The only problem is it is a curved surface so trying to work out the final step, it doesn't need to go in under pressure.
PS: there is an ad up here by a windscreen repair company that obviously never checked the final product, there is quite a visible chip still left after repair. I managed better with a cheap $10 repair kit.
