Cleaning your gear

Just spent a few hours cleaning rods m grips from a build up of stagnant prawns n squid off the hypalon grips on some of my rods n what a painit was to get it all off , YUK!!!!! , bit of soap , dish scrubber n elbow grease but like new now :) , till next time .
How do most of you lift that off your grips ?? , same way ??.

Scotchbrite every now and then.
My gear it to be used and I use them to death so I'm not worried about appearances as long as it is clean and in good working order.
