As I don’t have a clue,Is a commercial fisher allowed to use a net between a boat and the shore in an estuary in Qld ? It was like the commercial netters use on the beach.I noticed this in Whalleys Gutter at the “Pin” yesterday.

Seine nets (bait or drag nets)
Tidal water
Must not exceed 16m in length and 3m in drop.
Mesh size should not exceed 28mm.
The net must not contain a bag, pocket or anything similar.
It must not be anchored, staked or fixed.
The net should not be out of the water when containing fish other than to remove and release them.
All regulated fish not intended to be taken should be released into deep enough water to allow escape.
Not sure if this is what you are talking about but i suspect it could be?

That is for recreational fishers, not commercial.
I believe a commercial operator can fix one end of the net as long as they are in attendance.
