took dad out again this morning with 8 pots with the plan to drop them do a couple checks then home befor 9..all went to plan sort off with getting a good feed of sandies again but had to work a little harder for them...all up we did 3 checks and managed 21 keepers..am thinking there workin better on the less run tides..bait used was fresh mullet frames.. 116455116455

Great report as usual mate! You’ve probably been asked this before, what pots do you use? Are they the cheapies or what the pro guys use?

I use 1mtr round pots 4 entry orange or brown mesh and minimum 10mm rings..found orange or brown works best for the crabs not sure why...reason I use the bigger pots is they stay where u drop them and don't move...most important is the funnels or entries must be tight not loose ilke most of the cheaper bcf pots are..the crab pot centre out ipswich make them but u need to cable tie the edge funnels together..meaning that u need to join all the funnels together..another pot I use are from frank (0431222721) that runs bait shop at hemment..he advertises on facebook..his are 2 funnel pots and catch just as well as the other ones and are cheaper than the other ones...he makes them himself and he used to be a pro crabber so u know they work...

Good to see you have been getting a few crabs Rosco. We tried for a few muddies last Friday, I think chasing sandies might have been a better option though. My mate TIm caught a really nice Dart on a Worm at Macleay though. Back in September I went to Fraser with my uncle and we got a nice feed of Tailor which was good. We will try again for some crabs when TIm has more time. Cheers.
