Took my cousin out Friday night to get him onto his first thready. Took a while to get some decent live bait, the herring didn't seem to be schooling up as much as they normally do.
Anyway, got the bait and fishing up alongside the port.
Fished for a few hours for vermin, shovel nose, sting rays, catfish before a 96cm thready took a live mullet just before 1am Saturday morning. The rod went to my cousin to fight, although he doesn't look real happy in the photo he was pretty stoked with the fish.
Then the fishing shut down completely and couldn't give a bait until about 2am when we hooked up to a 93cm thready that took a live herring. With a fish each we decided to call it a night as we still had pots to pull in.
Managed 2 legal sandies from 8 pots for about 6 hrs soak near the pipeline in the river, not real flash numbers yet.
