Took a mate down to the pin to chase flathead on Monday. Late start at about 11 am and fishing was slow on plastics with only 2 small fish each for the first 3 hours. Changed to bait and we found the fish straight away. I got an 85 cm flathead within 10 minutes, 20 mins later and my mate got an 83, and then half an hour later I got an 87. Great fun. We went back to plastics for the next hour or so for just one stargazer for my mate and then we put baits back on for the last hour of light and I got a small bream and another flathead of 65 cm for dinner.
Great weather with 12-15 knot S-SE breeze and top arvo of fishing. Shame they weren't taking plastics, but always good when plan B works.
All flathead over 75 cm released after quick photo of course.
