Hi everyone as the title suggests , I am looking for advice in pursuing my first sailfish, in south east Queensland, mainly between Cape Moreton and Noosa to be precise but can travel to the goldy or further north.

I have a reasonably capable boat , 20 ft tournament and have had some success with the small black marlin during the warmer months but I would like to expand on my list of game fish caught solo.

If I can ask anyone who actively pursues these fish the big three questions,

Starting with when they start to appear and disappear.

what type of rigs or lures they use ie skirts or hardbodies , trolled live or dead baits and ideall trolling speeds.

and lastly the most difficult where?
now I know that this is a very big question and I am not asking for GPS marks but some indication of water depth would be great ie 50m , 80m or deeper than 100m or general areas such as the hards or Caloundra wide would be a help or do I just troll around looking for bait schools ?

I know that you could probably write a book on this topic and I don't expect everyone to give away their hard worked for tricks of the trade but any advice that would point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated, I will do the hours on the water to try and achieve my goal but a little bit of help goes a long way to reducing my fuel bill.

Thanks in advance, Hunter.
