Hi Guys

I'm doing a trip to Fraser Island next week (5th to 11th of July) to Fraser staying at Happy Valley where a group of guys. We are all taking our sons for the annual Fraser fishing trip. Has anyone heard any reports of the Tailor making it that far north yet?

Has anyone been on Fraser Island in the last few weeks who might know what fish are around?

Thanks in advance

Russ B

There are a few fish about on the eastern beach, all between 30cm and 38cm.

Thanks for the replies Kizza1 and Whoofa. The trip to Fraser was fantastic. A few Tailor caught but no size or numbers yet however we did manage a good feed of just legal whiting and flathead before the winds came up mid week.
With 10 teenage boys and 7 somewhat responsible adults when the fishing was slow the cricket and ball sports filled in the time.

Beach travel between the barge and Happy Valley was great however Hook point needs the usual caution. I cant tell what tides work best at Hook as we were only there on the low tides.

I think this is going to be a cracker tailor season if the weather plays the game and guys can get to fraser and get to the fish.

Just got back from rainbow beach comp and the biggest tailor was only 1.7kg. The water is still not cold enough.
