Been slaying these guys in the broadwater of late. Fish a cast is normal at stages during a session. Got 40 odd today before lunch. Enjoyed a 100 fish session a couple of weeks ago which was almost too much fun.

Thanks Tony, as has been shown 30cm and 10 bag. These guys were 34-44cm all caught on weed with a mate.
Thanks kingcray, Yeah mate they are all brainspiked , bled and straight into an ice slurry . I dont sever the gill latch when i bleed them just cut the membrane behind the gills directly in front of their heart which seems to work very well. Filleted skinned and boned i rate them highly on the plate.

From the boat, weed ,cabbage, and another type that almost seems a cross between the two all took fish but cabbage was the best on that occasion.

Sounds like brown weed that we caught plenty on when fishing the rocks in Sydney. Are there many places to collect weed around the Gold Coast area?

Never tried the brown weed Dutchie. I just look around any solid thing floating or partially submerged in the estuary to find my weed which can be nearly anywhere. Not particularly hard to find some kind of green stuff that they will eat. Ben
