What a beautiful day it was out on the water today !

Could have gone to Straddy in a bathtub, as they say.

Even my little tinny was out there. I picked up my very first legal size snapper - two of them.

it wasn't that way early over sandhills way, wind against tide made it bit lumpy.....trawlers anchored up over there knew I was wasting my time..
then went to rouse and it flattened out, but whiting few and far between

Near Peel, I really wouldn't go all the way to Straddie in my little boat :)

Funny how different parts of the bay are so different. Was nearly no wind near me, but I did hear someone on the radio say the bar was a bit sloppy.

Had to hunt around a bit for them. So, snapper bite best with a good tidal run? I did notice things got quiet on the high tide still.

yes good tidal flow and clearish water work best for me. I was out in the bay on wednesday and picked up approx 10-12 snaps 40-55cm- not huge but a bit of fun on light gear

Better than my effort. I fish on light gear too, and yes, they put up a good fight.
