Left clontarf at 1.30, set the pots, then headed to comp bouy to chase some whiting.
bit rough going out but supposed to drop of.
No whiting after couple hours, so headed to mud.

Pretty swelly out there. Tried a few spots. Couple undersize squire. Weather didnt improve. Prob blowing 15 knots. Tried to get out of it, got the shits and decided to come home around 8pm.

Was a rough trip home in the dark, about a 45 min run back. It was so much rougher about 1 k out from woody point.

But got back to ramp around 8.45, and blow me down, fisheries were waiting.

Obvioulsly killing some time or trying to get their hit rate up.

i told him, no fish on board but knock urself out and check. So he did. What an argonant mob. Not frienly at all so they get back back what they give out.

Asked me if boat was registered. What a stupid question, check the sticker. Looked at life jackets but just took my word for it, that the flares were in date.

Anyway picked up pots early this morning for 9 nice sandies, so nice crab sandwiches tonight, and the wife cant eat seafood, so all mine.

Cheers

bad luck hey Greg. Never had much luck at mud at night either.
Be nice if those fisheries guys could make an appearance during the day. Catch some of these blokes pulling snapper out of the green zone.
Did you get the sandies in the usual area mate.

Yeah Dean. Sandies in same spot.
Your right about fisheries. But they might get their feet wet getting in the boat, easier just to park 4 WD at boat ramp.
The number of boats that fish the green zone at woody point is very high.

A few weeks ago a bloke set his pots well inside. Not up to us to tell them.

He seahorse I have rung and told them and got haven't got any one around. Make u wonder and laugh as to how they operate. Same deal at nunda creek with blokes crabbin tell them ain't got know one around. They would make a fortune if they watched both green zones gee I'll even chip in for there over time haha.

Yeah Swanny
dont know the answer mate. I live at woody point and there are always boats in green zone or fishing of the rocks.
Surely they know. They must wonder why most of boats are all outside marks except them.

Thanks for the other info.

cheers
Greg
