Got out fairly early Monday morning, put some pots out near the rockwall at the mouth for 5 sandies after 2 hours. Pulled them and moved them back in the river when the wind picked up. Only got another 2 sandies. Managed to get 2 jewies, one at 83 and a second at 92 within ten minutes of the first one. Both fell to live mullet. Went through all the vermin first though...

put the pots out Saturday morning, checked twice and headed home with 17 sandies, no mentionable fish were caught.

I am finding at the moment that about 20-25% of legal sandies are empty, so a fair few have been going back. Have also been getting a fair few sharks out the front near the rockwall, taking live baits under balloons, great visuals and fun!!

Great to read a report! How big are those sharks you been getting?

Nice Jewies. Not being too familiar with the river mouth, can I ask, are you referring to the rockwall around the land reclamation right at the very mouth of the river?

Crunchy - Have landed some of the smaller models, up to about 3ft but been getting some bigger ones around 5ft up to the boat and a quick release. Majority have been bull sharks, they tail walk a fair bit too!

Back2boats - yes I am, head right out past the port and then follow the rocks over to the right. The depth is around 4-5m near the rocks there.

Thanks, must try it out some time. I presume the nearest ramp is the one near the bridge to Fisherman Island?

Yea thats the ramp that I generally use. If your coming from the northside there is another ramp just back down the river a little bit at pinkenba.
