Visited my family for a few days at my Mums beach house in North Queensland. I did not have a boat so off the beach or rocks was the go. The house is right on the water and fishing is great off the front on the higher tides. I managed a nice trev off the front and my son with his alligator gars (long tom). Also his couple of trevs on the last morning before we left. Long Tom are good fun to catch as they can take a light line for a good run and jump a fair bit. Also caught a few more golden trevs and butter fish on the morning tides and a jack off the front rocks on the night tide. All caught on yabbies or live diver whiting. Not many mullett around for bait. I don't mind trevs for a meal. Just need to be bled, chilled quickly and eaten within a day. The owner at the Taylors Beach Caravan Shop was saying that that the grunter and jacks were a bit quiet for this time of year.
