So apparently it got pushed sideways by swell coming back in and run up on the rocks. No passengers hurt but the hull is damaged and will be out of action for a while.

That would have given the passengers an unexpected thrill, doesn't look like a dangerous swell though?

I feel sorry for the company to have that boat out of action at what would be their busiest time of year. It's a really good trip on the spirit of 1770 over to Musgrave. Done it twice with the family and it's great day.
Pushed sideways haha that's a new one. I've heard on a pro fisho site it was steering failure too.
Theyve just refitted it which is a bastard. Wouldn't like to be the skipper if they don't find something busted.

Steering???? Got two motors. 1 reverse and one forward would surely steer enough to keep you off the rocks

Yup, and don't know about under state rules but under AMSA, steering failure drills form a regular part of our on board training schedule.
