Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a hoist to lift my 12' SUP paddle board off the roof rack straight up into the ceiling cavity in my car port. I've seen a couple of different versions on the net - does anyone here use one for their kayak?

Could you just set up 2 pulleys that have a rope over to the wall

My uncle made his own up. If you want to get real flash you can even use a small trailer winch. I think he used 4 pulleys in total. Two above the Yak, two in the corner of the ceiling to get the line of pull vertical down the wall.

Yeah, my first thought was make my own. The Thule one is good though, because it has a removable pole for raising and lowering, making it a little bit more secure.
I'll price up some pulleys, rope and a small winch and compare...

I just use an ebay bike hoist kit. Cheap and effective, all you need to add is a strap or cradle to go around your board and loop this onto the hooks.
