Hey all, just putting it out there that if you have some lead and don't want it.
I'd be keen to take it off your hands for a trip to 1770 in June.

I have got my fair share from the local tyre shop not the best stuff but it sinks, All they ask is for there buckets back I just take some with me and swap or empty into mine. I tried a battery once not worth the effort.

For casting small jigheads do not use wheel weights, that alloy will not flow well into your molds.
Use roofers sheet lead.

Hi Almako, If you can't get hold of any lead I make my own sinkers on the cheap and sell a few on the side to put towards the boat fuel bill. If your interested PM me an I can give you the sizes and prices. For example 8ox dropper $ 1.20 ea, 12oz dropper $1.50 ea. 10 ball 90cents ea.

Would wheel weights be ok for snapper sinkers?

Yeah, perfect for snapper leads.
Will work well with anything bigger than a #4 ball sinker.

Tyre weights are an alloy i think and are harder than standard lead, which i prefer for jig heads
just make them really hot and they pour ok

The worst thing about wheel weights is the crap that come with them the stick on ones can have glue on them and I missed a valve once that smelt nice.
