I believe any rod with a rating of 15k's plus can handle this weight, but a good 10kg ( fast taper ) will work. I use a one at about 6'6".

I built a 655B calstar 5'6" 20to50lb for this guy and he said that that dont quite do with at 16oz but 12oz ok, he fishes around 80 mts,was thinking 30to80 calstar but 6ft.

I can suggest quite a few 16 oz is the most common sinker we use. Rlf19 live fibre I use spin. Can't beat the penn mariner rod for price and reliability10-15 or 15-24. Sil star crystal power tip 10-15 is good too, shimano beast master 15-24 is great rod. My advice is don't don't go too heavy especially if using braid which most people do now. But as lucky Phil said anything over 10kg is good in my opinion.
