Well lets start with Wow on the conditions, Perfect conditions and the weather man actually got it right this time!
We headed out at 4:30am to our favourite inshore spot and fish 27m of water for a few keepers and alot of undersize red's but it was really quiet, we decided to sound around and anchored on 4 good shows of fish/bait but nothing... Fish wern't biting today, through down a mixture of mullet, squid, pillies, Herring, silver biddys and nothing was getting touched. Decided to drift to see if we could pick a few that way and 5minutes into the drift my mate landed a nice squire followed by dad with another. Not quiet a snapper but they are getting bigger. I still managed to pull up complete crap, all undersize fish every drop. 9am came fast and dad called it to head out to the barwon banks. Glassed off conditions with basicly no swell we flew out at 35mph in dads 5.1m bow rider, was possibly the comfiest ride ive been in his boat. Arrived at our spot by 10 and baits were down, we anchored over our wire weed pearlie spot but i pulled up nothing but bream and hussar... decided to drift for some pearlies but instead i pulled up tuskys, hussar, parrot, moses and other small fish constantly. I dont know what dad and my mate were doing but i didn't see them pull a fish on board for a long time when everydrop i did i had 1 or 2 fish on, it was just my day but i was getting sick of pulling small fish up from 70m so i decided to have 1 more drop then i was off to have a smoke and a drink, soon as i hit the bottom something took it and nearly pulled me in(i was sitting on the back with my legs over) before my mate grabbed my shoulder and put me upright again haha, i couldn't do anything to slow this fish or shark down before a knott slipped... bugger but i didn't know if i had the energy to pull it in anyway! haha. Had 1 more drop just to see and pulled in a 58cm tuskfish which is my pb and it went hard. Had my break and still the boys didn't pull anything in, we stayed untill 2 pulling in small fish before wind slowly started to pick up and we decided to head in while the goings good.
All up was a good day and perfect conditions!
