I am trying to get the emulator for my GPS running on a windows 7 box. I haven't used it in the last cpl of years since updating from winXP but want to have play as has been a while since I have used the GPS and once installed it wont open and reports a missing dll. removed rebooted and reinstalled still the same issue.
A search of the lowrance.com and google doesn't reveal anything about compatibility or otherwise.
Any body had any luck installing one on Windows 7?

1. Run the installation with elevated privileges,
2. Do a search for the DLL locally, it will be there,
3. from a elevated command prompt register the dll, c:\windows\system32\regsrvr32 "Directory\dll_name"

I installed a free program called "dll file fixer" and it works for running the Lowrance emulator. Had it on my computer for 3 years and no problems.

Thanks for the Advice but in this case no Dice Honda. Had already tried install as Admin. Have tried running both install and program in XP compatibility mode.
A search of my PC including hidden folders and system files reveals the file was not installed. Have tried Scuttlebutts' idea and it has worked. Scans reveal no spyware or viruses as a result. Seems strange but apparently Vista and XP does not support the install of this particular dll.
Once again thanks for the input.
