Any good flies in particular for this? Floating flies I'm guessing?
thanks.

A mate use to target them with a small wiggler pattern with rubber legs.

I get a few on clousers. Favourite estuary fly allrounder is a white clouser with a bit of bulk. Having said that, where you land your fly is more important than what your fly is. The archer will be sitting either hard against the bank or on a snag. Land your fly nice and close for the "reaction bite"

Thanks mate,
Interestingly I've found hordes of them occupying whole small bays in Tinaroo, all just under the surface squirting up at bugs..so I'll try the clouser and maybe go to an ant pattern or something if I don't have any luck?
If you fancy a Tinaroo fly session one day lmk.
Cheers.

Cheers mate, I used a Canon G10 camera in underwater housing but any decent waterproof camera will do. . Then lead the fish with one hand while taking pics with the other. Have to take a lot of pics because the success rate is about 10% shooting blind. Also have to be mindful of crocs with youre arm in the water!
