yes some model of grunter... caught some good size one last time we were up there.

We call them Trumpeters. Never knew they were a type of Grunter. Interesting to know.

Used to catch heaps down the goldy. Called them happy moments.
No info other than that.

We called them trumpeters up north. Can give a nasty sting. They were a pain when using a castnet as they would school up and fill the net.

was watching Robson Green's fishing show for a bit last night , he was in an estuary in South Africa.
He caught one of these crescent grunter, a small tarwhine and also what we would call a 'bar tailed' flathead, but they gave them all different names to us. Just thought that was a bit interesting ..

Grows to 25cm..never saw one that size. Usually around 5 to 7.5 here on Cap Coast. Given their fight, they would out perform a bream at 25 cm. Prickey little buggers.

Caught one that looks the same in the Mooloola River, I agree SatNav, definately not a happy moment...
