Penn 6500

Dunno why:),but purchased one of these spin reels today. Have been eyeing them for some time now n the choice was either that one o r the Shimano version baitrunner type.
Price at BCF pushed me over the bank:) more to speak so took the plunge. Anyone onboard own one of these ? N thoughts on them appreciated.

Hi Volvo,
I bought an ssv6500 6 months back and it has done limited work but appears to be quite a solid reel.
I have been using it on a Penn Prevail rod and just use it for jew off the rocks.
Its quite a heavy reel but that does not worry me too much as long as its durable and it does appear to be quite good.

Just had a look at some of the prices they are selling them for and they are $30-$40 cheaper now Than what I bought mine for..

Matched up to the Penn rod it handles big jew and sharks and is a pleasure to use.
No complaints yet and I have had far more expensive reels fail with much less work.
