Hi Guys,
What do you do with prawn heads when it's 5 days till the garbage truck comes?

Just chuck them over the fence into neighbours garden.................
With her permission of course.
She said chooks love them and it's just like shell grit to them......

cheers

Freezer.

Then turn them into snapper around any of the Bay Islands!

I wait till the warden has gone out then whack them through the blender with some old pillies an salt water then freeze.

Works a treat

I agree, they make great burley.

Had a huge amount a few years ago and took them out to the west side of peel during the day. Had this long line of burley going and it was surprising what came up. The biggest was about a 70cm Juvenile Chinaman fish. When it came up I thought it was a Trout but as soon as we got it to the boat the cry went out "chinaman fish? Any way I tried to mince the heads and pillies but found that almost impossible. The suggestion of the blender sounds interesting.

We use the shells and veins as burley, then put the heads on a 4/0 with little or no lead and float them out. Snapper and grassies love em. Big cooked kings and tigers are the best.

out the back door..4 steps to the garden. Toss them over the top of the hedges and make sure they clear it. All good.
