went chasing tings 28/12/12

took dad and kieren chasing tings this morning over the rous,had a late start leaving manly around 9,pretty well found them straight away but the size was boarderline...normally this time of year there good size 28-30 odd cm but this yr there are alot around the 20- 23 cm mark with the bigger ones around the 27cm mark. should point out i guess that these are diver whiting i am talking about..ended up with 70 odd and prob threw another 25-30 back,used squid strips and some frozen worm's that where bout a yr old i had in the freezer..whiting and chis for dinner tonite.pretty hard to beat that ith a few coldies...
p.s we ony got the whiting in 3-4 mtrs of water any deeper and the little reefies hammered ya

Nice work Rosco!....Dad went out on Thursday and got about the same.... Size was probably a tad better though.

Christmas usually throws up the bigger fish. Last year we got a few around the 32cm mark. Under 23cm its a lot of work to fillet a good feed

with the smaller ones I put in the blender and make fishcakes, half fish mixed with normal potato and sweet potato, adding some chilli

gave some to neighbour, gave some to next door and they said excellent
