Hoping HS 630/632 owners can steer me in the best direction for transducer placement for my vessel. I am leaning towards the P79 shoot thru hull transducer matched to a 587 GFuruno (up to 22 degrees angle for instal off to starboard as I believe plank has timber core) but have not yet checked for positioning and dead rise yet. Are there any HS 630/632 owners who can suggest the best way to go. I don 't think I need to go to a 1Kw unit as I rarely go deeper than 60/70m. With Grand Marlin off the scene I am wondering who else may be there to help? Thanks in advance. As a technical point, also, will a 1Kw unit shoot thu the plank? Brad

I have a 585 with a p79, holds bottom very well. Mine is mounted now in a HH 625, no wood in mine though.

Thanks Honda. yeh...need to head over to the shed and check the deadrise in the area I would like to place the t/ducer. Shooting through the plank would be perfect except for the core in there. have to set it up on the starboard side where the deadrise is within the bounds of the P79. Cheers Brad

I had fitted a B164 1Kw 20 deg tilted element transducer fitted on the port side in the bilge just to the edge of the plank in my 580F.The deadrise in that area is 24 deg directly off the plank. A 20 deg will take up to 26 deg of deadrise. Reads perfectly at WOT as well in glassed out conditions. The hull thickness was 18mm of solid glass, makes a good coffee mug coaster on my desk. Jim
