Heading up to the sunny coast to celebrate 40th in a week or so..;D Grew up in Coolum and used to fish it but that was 20+ years ago::) and Yaroomba used produce good Jewies. Does anyone fish that stretch or have done lately.. Renting a house a street back from that stretch of beach..

Hi mate,

I have started to fish up there regularly as my out-laws live at Mudjimba, but only at Currimundi Lakes so far as it has big sand flats with yabbies and is nice and sheltered and safe as I take my 5yr old son with me.

I can catch whiting non-stop there, but you have to go through a lot of undersize ones to get enough legal ones for a feed. That said, as long as I am fishing and my boy is catching anything , we don't care. Just good, cheap, quality father-son time. :)

I'll probably give La Balsa Park a go next time I am up there. Have also been meaning to try the gutters along Point Cartwright, etc, as they look very fishy and no-one is around.

Ben.
