July 20

I submitted a request for holidays from work in July to catch up with a mate & his 82 year old Dad who had rented a house at Rainbow Beach for a week & said to me bring yourself, your gear + some beer.

I had bought a new crab cooker to use for the duration of our stay.
Rather than cook in the kitchen of the holiday house we sat outside under the back deck preparing our catch & cooking it.
Consuming numerous ales in the duration of the process of cooking.

Had an awesome feast for lunch.

We consumed a few amber ales during the duration of our stay.

I cleaned a my mates Dad's wok (bought 40 years ago) to use on the companion cooker.
I cleaned it by immersing it in molasses & water for a few days then seasoning it by coating it in rice bran oil & placing it in a rangehood bbq at 500F for an hour.

We got a good haul of whiting & a few mudcrabs + sandcrabs on the last day.
