Spent the day on the Brissy and had possibly my best session there ever! Small bream vibes did the job mainly and I reckon I was hooked up solid to fish of varying sizes and descriptions for 5-6 hours out of 7. Every cast was a winner (most times) with Biig bream, flattys, tailor, snapper and jew all coming to the net, some taking far longer than others. All caught on 6lb. WICKED DAY! Ben

Nice work mate!...
I have been doing better in the river lately than the bay... Too many boats buzzing around the bay...
That's a solid Jewie..

6lb?? Who fishes with 6lb. Last time I fished the river it was in desperation, after striking out in the bay and I got a nice flattie. There are obviously fish there.. Nice work

Nice one mate. You're having a good run in the river ATM

Hehe, ta guys. Yep 6lb is probably a bit light for decent jewies to be honest, wasn't really expecting them to turn up and that sucker took forever to tire! Squire to 60 seem to be fairly manageable but there is nearly always 1 horse that just annihilates(spelling) you wishing you were fishing heavier every time. I just console myself with the theory that if I wasn't fishing that light I probably wouldn't have hooked it in the first place. Ben

Great day out the old river turns it up again. Some of the biggest snaps I've caught have been in the river but still waiting for a jewie. Was there any rubbish floating in the river? Thanks for the report Ben.
Cheers

Awesome stuff Blooey. That jew would have taken quite some time and patience on the 6lb gear.

Ta guys. Had a quick go today around lunchtime and got destroyed by one fish and fought another for around 30mins before the 10lb leader finally wore through. Yep , 6lb definitely too light without having a heavier bite tippet. Got some consolation bream and squire but still sulked home with my tail between my legs. Ben
