Well went for a early morning fish at scarby this morning for snapper using whiting frames and squid for bait . Started of with a nice 36cm first cast . with a 32cm coming over the side next . For the next hour or so alot of hits a few shovel nose sharks , stingrays where caught . after checkin the time we where near the last 2 and a bit hours of the botom of the tide when i heard my rod go off like a frieght train excited to say the least after good hard battle nice PB 64cm snapper hits the deck after a happy snap in the esky it went . I turn to and said to my mate paul ok your turn now he had to wait about a hour before he finally got his chance drag screaming sets the hook bang hes on great fight again big head shakes and good hard runs to land his new pb of a 70cm snapper what a nice fish high fives all round .

For the next part of the tide there where hooks up with hope of more snaps but they just didnt want to come to the boat . So we decided to pull the pin and duck over the get a few winter whiting to build up stock of the frames for next time and a nice feed of tings to top the day. The off only let down was the rough condition coming back in from the cockle banks when the westlery blew up which in the end was all part of the fun .

Satisfied to say the least also thansk Fish08 for sharing ya knowlodge on the locastions etc to say i got the sanpper bug is a understatment but ill have to recover the back from this trip before attemping another one Cheers ;D

Nice one, congrats on the PB.

I live at North Lakes so redcliffe is so close but I always used to fish Mud. When I get myself another boat (hopefully very soon) I may need to swap some of my Mud Island spot x marks for some scarby marks.
