Went fishin after work this evening for a couple of hours. Threw the cast net out in 2 of my most productive spots and not one herring or mullet, so had to rely on my frozen herring and mullet from last trip.

Had 1 hour of the run in tide left to fish at my spot x, so put a whole herring on one rod and a large mullet fillet on the other. Both got hit almost immediately and I landed 2 x 23cm bream. Rebait and landed a 25cm keeper and a few more 23cm bream, then my favourite Shimana Sahara goes bzzzzzzzzzzz and It is running out in waves, so I,m thinking bloody stingray until I feel a bit of a head shake, now I,m excited. Managed to land a 39cm beauty, my second biggest Bream. (Got a 45cm sea bream on Scarborough reef many years ago.)

Tide has now sorted to turn and only bringing in smaller bream, all around the 23cm mark, about 20 all up. So last bit of run in tide at dusk, with a nice rocky bottom...herring/mullet...looks like a really good bream season coming up here which we deserve after such a dismal whiting season. Anyone want to PM me, I will gladly let you know where I am having success but we won't make it public..

The smaller bream in the photo is just over 25cm as comparison, looking forward to breakfast tomorrow.

Queenly at the Cod Hole Astro...nice fish mate...that place amazes hey...I got a 80 cm Flathead just up the river from there last week..

I was throwing some cooked prawn shells over as berley for the Bream and then he took the Herring....later when cleaning I found some cooked prawn shells in his gut cavity....that is really pleasing when a plan works.

Got a sandie and a muddy this morning as well.

Gday gruntahunta,
Just rigged up my std kayak to be more fishing friendly on the weekend and went and tested out how all the gear went and ended up catching a couple of bream in the space of about 10 mins up at the t intersection of maroochy n petrie, one was about 30cm n the other was just shy of 20. I'll pm you about your spot cause I'm a local maroochydorian and probably be keen to even catch up for a fish too.
