It has been a year or so since I had been for a fish - work, family & more work make fishing less of a priority but the itch for a fish came back and was determined to get out even for a couple of hours.....so Thursday was the day....
I wanted to stay close to Reddy Bay just in case something happened to the boat but it went like a dream.....
First drift over my mark - literally within 2 mins - my dead stick goes off.....1 second later the rod in my hand goes off - line zipping of on both - shit but awesome....I decided to work the rod I had in my hand......up comes 50ish snap....the other rod went dead but I wind it in and to my surprise its still on .....another 50ish snap - in one drift two fish - sweet....
I then did about another 15 drifts over the same patch and there was only two drifts were I didn't catch a snap.....I ended up with my bag of 4 ranging from 45 - 50ish....
I was shocked at the continual action and the continual throwing back of good size fish.....back at the ramp within two hours.....the itch is definetly back....
The plastic that did the most damage was 4inch gulp minnow in watermelon....

Awesome fun ain't it? Take some pillies and anchor next time. That way you can be out much longer to try get your bag.;D. Only two hours to satisfy the itch is not long enough!;D

Well done mate. Must have been hard finally getting the boat out and being back in a few hours but that's mid week runs hey. Good to see a few around but this weather has just been cruel. The old watermelon hey. Good to see the old placcy getting a gernsy and did the job by the sounds of it. Cheers DD.....

Hey Reddy, nice work mate. Must say im pretty jealous, sold my boat in November 2011 and haven't been fishing since. Drove over horinbrook bridge at dawn this morn and the bay looked perfect, which made me jump on here for a look.

Anyways, great catch I'd be stoked with that.

Cheers - shame about selling your boat - I'd thought about selling mine several times also....but hopefully as my daughter gets older she can come out with me and as they say - hope to have some priceless fishing moments....
Your welcome to come out for a fish with me - if your keen just PM me & can organise something....

Thanks. That's extremely generous of you and I'd be happy to take you up on the offer. I tried sending you a PM but it said your inbox was full.
