After 3 weeks in the USA I was dying to get back on the water and try out some of the shiny stuff I picked up while in the states.

Launched at Diamond Head at 4:30am and headed for spot 1, 1hr of castsing, not a touch. Moved to another of my favourite spots, nuthin, moved again 1 under sized flatty, tried pelican waters canal, 1 snag, moved to some weed beds, nothing, trolled while I had a feed, got myself a shite load of weed, tried the deep hole for nada!!! 7hrs and I had 1 undersize flatty from all my usual spots and a few new ones!!! Sat at the front of bells, threw a dead sticker out the back with a SP on it while I packed up the boat, ready to head in and snavelled another undersized flat one :(

Despite lack of fish it was a beautiful day on the water with a sensational sunrise, oh and I did launch and retrieve the boat by myself for the first time so that was a bonus!!! :D

Easter long weekend coming up so it willl be a madhouse on the water, think I will just fish from the yak and avoid the boat ramp chaos!!

Cheers

I was out for a while sunday as well funchy, water in the passage is nearly back to where it should be colour wise, i managed 2 little flathead for my session, i now face the prospect of buying fish for friday, i think it needs to cool off to get the fish feeding, anybody who says flathead are a summer fish must fish in a different region to me, for my money the cooler months are way better..

Amen alleycat! I read back over my reports and it seems Jan to March were quieter months for me (That is why I write reports, so I can go back and review). Based on last year things will pick up after easter and only get better. Wont stop me going out and trying though!! Next year I will focus on Jacks and whiting during the hottest month I think!
