Dropped the pots out Saturday out in the Bay, around the 10 metres, returned Sunday morning and picked up 34 sandies and a very lost Muddie. Crabbed two areas, the 4 pots in one area had a lot of undersized and females but we got a few, the other 4 pots up the road had really good crab with 11 good sized keepers in the final pot. They are out there fellas and the muddie must of been swimming to New Zealand. Kept a few and the muddie for ourselves with the rellies like feeding seagulls:D
The 2 entry pots out-crabbed the usual 4 entry ones on the overnight soak.
Cheers

Well done Mike, good to see somebody is getting into the sandies, and good to see the share farmers weren't out and about also.

We dropped our 8 pots in Sat after lunch. Lifted them for a quick look at 5 pm for 10 nice keeper sandy's. Left them in overnight, but a bit disappointed when we lifted them early Sun am for just another 10.
We were crabbing in about 5m near Peel. Might have to go a bit deeper based on your results, Mike!
Anyway got a decent feed, there do seem to be quite a few about. They were all chocka block full too.
We had same thing happen as you too Mike - rellos swooped like seagulls on a hot chip when word got out!
Cheers

Rosco, nice going on the macs and muddies,
ML we had 4 pots near Peel which didnt do as well either....and the rellos cleaned us out, i must admit i did wonder if one rello who can really demolish the sandies was serious when he asked if they where cooked or not? answer we dont usually catch cooked crab from the Bay but next time ill try!

Just to be spiteful I would give him a raw spanner crab that are red aren't they? See how he tucks into that one Mike. Good effort there dude, does Bec enjoy sandies?
