daiwa freams

does anyone know if these reels are easliy maintained due to the "oil seal" or if there is a compeatitive reel in the 3000 size for 210 bucks.it seems to have a lot of high end specs for the price

Mate, I had a play with a freams 2500 last weekend(in a tackle shop) and must say that for the price($189) I was impressed. From what I saw I dont think maintenance will be any more difficult than any other reel and probably easier than some others I looked at.

i bought the 3000 and used it yesterday for surf spinning,loaded with 150m 5kg powerpro and about 100m of backing.very smooth reel and great for the lighter lures 20-60g.using a shimano et 9 foot rod at the moment but looking for somthing better any sugestions??
