I don't recall ever seeing this on Ausfish before so hopefully this interesting website is new to most readers.
It shows the position, speed and details of commercial shipping, as well as some pleasure boats, on their travels in real time across the world.

Now, you can see the details of the big ships that you see when out in your boat. You can even see where the CityCats are on the Brisbane River.

Blokes use it to track the ship that's transporting their boat from the US. It must work off a repeater though. Ships seem to disappear when offshore.

old man used it to track his mates sail from Sydney to Lord howe its pretty amazing mapping of countries too when you zoom right in

'ShipFinder' app for Iphone/pad is good also. Looks like similar if not same info (judging from quick scan of the website in the OP). FYI

You wanna check out some traffic. Zoom in to some of the Chinese or Dutch ports. Like New Years Eve every day.
