I use a Stradic 5000FI on a 4-7kg rod. Its about the right size to fish 20lb braid in up to 60m or so. The gearing lets you rip your rigs back in quickly but it may not suit constant weight if using a paternoster rather than a floater or plastics

Stradic all day over the okuma......okumas are good, but corrosion gets to them quicker than the stradics.

I have a okuma salina 2 5000. And I use it for light bottom bashing in up to 60 mtrs of water. I have caught some monster sharks on this reel which I have on a 8kg texallium rod and the reel itself punchs well above its weight. hoever as tuna ticer mentioned you need to keep the oil and spray up to them cause if you leave them sitting without a wash after a fishing trip out wide they do stiffen up very quickly. I cant comment on the stradic but lots of people use them so that must speak in itself

i use the 5000fj stradic for floatlining in 60-80mtrs,had the 5000 fi model b4 and it was the better reel hands down.... not a bad reel and i recon better for floatling rather than bottom bashing
