OK,

I have recieved a few hyperlinks... think that is what ya call them. Like click on this to confirm action. Icon.... click on it.... nothing.

Even the Ausfish emails I get have a URL that I used to click on and it would take me straight to that post / thread. Not any more..

Any one know what happened and how to fix this ?????

I use Outlook Express. all updated etc.

I haven't fiddled with any thing.....??

Outlook usually modifies links so you don't accidentally click on them. Try pressing ctrl_key at same time as clicking on them.

UM.... not too sure how to do that.

I can press ctrl but the underscore and key.... keys are bit out of my range. And, I can't find the key " key ". ???

Am I missing something ?

Cheers

Just hold down the Ctrl-key (bottom left corner of keyboard) while you left-mouse-click on the link.

Unless Outlook has stripped the hyperlink out of the email altogether. Can't remember if there's a setting (in Outlook) to change or not, will have a look when I'm on my other PC next.

Try right clicking the link and see if it has an "open link in browser option" or something like that.

I use Thunderbird and Firefox, so have not use outlook in a while.

Only says ( with right click )

Copy Short Cut

Can you copy it and paste the link into the browser address window?

Like I said I don't have outlook express,it does not seem to be recognizing it as a proper link, there are settings in the "options menu", but I have no idea what ones they are.

BTW. What browser are you using?

Yes, I can copy it and paste.

Will look into the settings now

The browser you are using as the default browser has to be the same browser the email client uses as its default browser.
If your using IE then the default for OE would be IE, in that case study your settings for opening hyperlinks, the security might be stopping it.

Yes... it appears so.

I reset the Default settings and now the hyperlink works, but opens the link / URL in IE and i am not logged in on that browser.

I did have the " custom " button highlighted and will go back and have another look.

Control Panel -> Add and Remove programs -> Set Program Access and defaults...

Bloody hell..... the custom button was highlighted when I went back in !!!

Yes Phil study that bloody options menu, its not complicated, it is just the fact that noone really wants to, including me, but if you look in OE there should only be one options menu and it does help to look at it, though I still deter from fiddling round with that stuff but it can help at times.
