pfft how dumb are muddies

89312893118931089309dropped 8 pots brissy river friday arvo with the missus went back yesterday for 1 pot slashed open still crab in it no keepers just huge females ,got 8 nice big bucks around the 1.4-1.7 kilo mark...rebaited and let soak again overnite only 5 today but 3 real crackers and 2 with no claws...also got a bit of a nibble on my cat for sale as well :'( and looks promising
p.s.. the young bloke wouldnt put a muddie with claws under his frount toes.lol even though they where tied up

Killing 'em Roscoe! Shame about the slashing though. been quite a few down this way as well. 4 legals in the broadwater while we went for a fish for a few hrs yesterday - nice when there's enough crabs around so u don't have to work ur pots!

rosco I have question if you dont mind, if you catch several mud or sand crabs and want to keep the meat for later how do you do this. What i mean is do you cook them then pull them apart clean them and freeze etc.......

mark i normally just eat what i want and give the rest to famiy and friends...but have frozen cooked crabmeat b4 but only use it in curries... once the family knows i been crabbin the phone starts ringing for there feed.lol..i just like catchin the buggers...ate the most crabs this yr this weekend i think i have eatin 3 muddies...son had 4 gave the rest to the oldies...should of left the pots out

Hope they are really dumb as i am going to drop pots in come thursday for a few days. shame about the slashing, I'll be pissed of if it happens again to me- not sure if I'll leave in overnite as yet

yeah fellas the rains pushed them out..i recon if i crab this weekend for muddies i will drop my pots over at tanga's,flooding around gumdale again already..
