Went out with Bec today for a lazy whiting session and dropped the pots as well, gentlemans hours. Bec was skipper all day and i had a blast, top day out and got a handy feed of sandies and whiting
The sandies certainly where running, got 18 in 4 hours... and threw back a bunch of just legals as had enough... also got a nice feed of whiting while waiting for the pots.
Only mishap was it was a bit low at Raby Bay this afternoon, one day they may dredge it, tickled the prop in the channel,

Good work Tangles!
We did much the same in the Rous, except didn't take the crab pots. Picked up nearly 50 nice quality 'ting, got them all on Berkley sP worms.
The Admiral decided to join us for a change too, and has already bragged on facebook about how she caught more, bigger fish than #1 son and me...... We of course spent most of the day taking fish off her hook for her instead of fishing!
We had a squid jig hanging over the side for a while but nothing doing in that department.
Cheers!

Nice work Mike & Bec.
Apart from a feed of Tailor and Squire I had a Trailer issue.
Many thanks to madmackerel for his kind offer to utilize his rattle gun and driveway to remove wheel from trailer. Blew a bearing on the way to the ramp.
Drove from Alex Hills to home on 3 wheels. Had a covoy behind me most of the way due to 40kph speed limit.
Drove home like this:-

Due to damage in this:-

Might have to replace the whole axle assembly.
Good day on the water anyway with Brother, Niece and BF of other Niece. All greenhorns so no bar crossing today !
cheers

Thats a bugger Phil...but sounds like its sorted...one query was my radio reception stuffed as you only heard 'buggered'?

Yes, I heard you call me, I responded, then I heard you depress the transmit button, but all was silent / scratchy noise... then heard " Buggered "... and the bit about you near the Rous.
Could be the handpiece ????
I clearly heard boats talking to each other on the Northern Hards for Peel Island.

Mrs H. Bec was skipper and i sat back relaxed, had to haul up some pots though but nothing better than getting out with the better half. Dont crab for muddies as we like the sandies, Bondy totally agree with you,

Good feed there Mike. Nothing beats a feed of Tings and Sandies washed down with a cleansing ale or two

I totally agree, Sandies are so much sweeter than muddies, never seem to catch any though and I definitely dont go out buying them either, fresh is always best and the aroma of seawater too boot.
