Does anyone own a Saros 2500 FA (current model). Looking at the reel schematics the only differences that I can see compared to the Stradic FJ are the side cover (which incorporates the reel stem) material (XGT7 Graphite v Aluminium Alloy) and the bail arm (2 piece v 1 piece). XGT7 graphite is 200% stronger than their current graphite according to Shimano's technology description.

I can buy a Saros for $119 ($46 less than the Stradic) and unless there is something fundamentally wrong with the design of the Saros it seems to be the way to go?

I have a saros 2500 FA and I prefer to use the Symetre or Stradic to it......just doesnt feed as good as the other two even tho it is specced up from a Symetre. Still a good reel in all, just feels different to the other two when using it.

Thanks mate. Which Symetre do you have the older FJ or the current FL model?

The reason for my question is I haven't seen the new Saros but I have handled both the new model Stradic and Symetre which I did like the feel of. The Saros basically shares the same internals as the Stradic (worm drive oscillation). Maybe the Symetre is the way to go.

Hi mate I have the Symmetre 2500 FL. Bought it for fishing with my kids - got sick of them dropping my others reels in the sand, on the road etc!

The Symmetre 2500FL is a great reel for the price. Haven't used the stradic or the saros but can definately vouch for the Symmetre in that price bracket.

I have all three models of Symetres Jackson, each better than the previous model.
