well it started off friday nite with a 1000 beers and had a great idea of landbased mudding again crashed about 3am and woke around 11.decided that the local (lota)creek again was going to be the the place to go..i spent about 2 hrs mending my crappy pots what i didn't really care if the sharefarmes pinched as they had served me well...on low tide yesterday i raincoated up grabbed my 4 pots and set of through the mud thinking your a bloody idiot::)..used a whole mullet a pot for bait...went back this arvo to pull them back out for a good result of 5 keepers but had lost 1 pot to some1 who wanted it more than me,am guessing it had good keepers in it...good to see the creek lowlifes still around after all these years.out of the 3 pots left there where on average of 9 crabs a pot so plenty of crabs just not alot of keepers...just made the 2 biggest muddie sambo's for dinner and enjoyed them with a nice coldie...on a side note on low tide today it was approx .5mtr deeper than yesterday with the run off from the rain
cheers rosco

rosco im sure you could somehow manage a feed if you just tossed your crab traps off your balcony.

Rosco to save you getting all that mud everywhere I've got a tinnie you can have for a loan of your cat haha.
We launched the boat yesterday almost from the carpark cos the ramp was underwater then so the waters coming up damn quick. Does this mean the crabs will be hanging deep now to get some salinity ?

robsue am guessing the place is called Luc's Seafood - 101 Riverside Place, Morningside. I've been going there a bit and they're much cheaper for mullet, pillies and squid compared to other places around the joint.

They are certainly on the move. Let my pots soak overnight and got 4 legals in one pot. The other 3 pots had nothing as when the tide turned it ran out at about 10knots and washed them high into the mangroves! haha Ben

Haha, yeah i can just imagine them flapping along the surface at the peak of the runout! Luckily i tied them on to the bank well. Ben
Good on you rosco1974 another nice feed there pal, a mate of mine has had pots in upstream from where you crab and he has been doing well, even gave me one for my birthday but this weeks bad weather took his pots. We plan on putting the tinny in on the weekend lows to try to find them, if you see any down your way let me know.

mate he must be well up the creek as i was near the foot bridge on white road
Mate did'nt realise you were that far up, I thought you may have been down closer to the mouth near where mum and dad are. We usually crab behind and or just upsrteam/downsteam of the soccer fields, thats where the absconding pots have left from headed for Moreton Bay..........:( looks like we have a bit of rowing comming up;)

Nice work Rosco, it's worth the mud and rain when the pots are full.
Cheers
