Hi guys,
Anyone done much good trolling for bass at night time? We are heading out to Cania soon and I've never tried for them at night time.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks mate, yeah I agree, bass on surface are awesome. I just haven't tried trolling at night time so I was wondering if others had success.

I don't doubt there are some techneques beside surface that should work after dark, perhaps trolling would, I know in the salt trolling darker lures go ok at night.
I prefer sitting around the fire having a beer after dark myself, most of the bass dams I fish are only open 6am to 6pm anyway. I think Cania could be too.

Thanks Mike, I know what you mean. Nice to kick back after a great day on the water. I think Cania is open all hours so to speak but usually night time is for relaxing. See how we feel I guess.

Hi Lonhro
We have found trolling at night for bass can be hit and miss.
We had lots of regular success in Maroon Dam several years ago. Best results were on dark lures - particularly dark brown and deep divers. Had to watch position of moon to get sihoulettes happening, but since Dam has filled have not had the same success. At the time not a lot of weed cover in the Dam, now lots of weed cover so this could be why things changed.

caught barra at awoonga on the troll at night
I've had more success by finding shallow flats that bass would use as hunting ground at night.
If during the day you notice shallow areas holding bait, it's worth casting poppers there at night.
