Me and a mate headed out to Mud early today from pinki ramp and was on the spot pre dawn.. The mozzies were smashing us big time and I forgot I took the bushman's out of the boat last week.. Bad mistake, we were slapping more than fishing until it was well and truly daylight!!

Having said that, the fish were on the bite from the outset.. We got some big hits and smoked on several occasions!! We pulled in a few grassy and a snapper that went 40 and kept em as we were too light.. Kept breaking at the loop knot on my jig.. It was 10 pound flouro which has landed me nice snapper before, but today it was just too light.. I had a bigger rod on board (5000 sustain fg with 6-10kg T-Curve) but it just felt wrong to drop it in, so I resisted..

We pulled a heap of squire that were just under, but the massive runs before the bust offs were pretty cool.. I have a 2 minute clip of a big snapper run, but my potty mouth is probably a bit to intense for any young folk that read this forum!! And I was carrying on like a complete tosser. It would be the best add for Minn Kota as I was trying to chase the fish without a leccy!! Total what not to do footage...

Caught a nice Sole on the slack tide that I love to throw in the pan, so put him on the ice and just had it for dinner.. Nice eating fish!!

We pulled the boat and went straight to see Steve and Don at Carseldine to get some heavier leader (not too heavy, still love the sport of it) and will be hitting it again tomorrow..

With Bushman's insect repellant..

I get Ipilot on the 5th of Feb after I get the mods done.. Can't wait..
Cheers

Check the photo of the jaw my mate pulled out of a fish on 3 kilo line..Poor thing!!

Great Work AfE.
Hope you have more luck landing one over the next couple weeks.
Once you have your Minn Kota fitted, you will be blown away at how many more fish it helps you catch and never understand how you fished without it. ;)
By far one of the best additions to any boat.
