I am coming down to Cooperoo from Toowoomba with the family to see a doctor. I thought it might be a good chance to get a couple of hours of wetting the line in.

I was thinking of going to Wynumm or Manly to chase some whiting, but I am not sure how much water will be there.

This is on thursday 3/1. Doctors appointment is at 2:00 and should be able to get to water by 4:00ish.

High tide is middle of day, low tide is around 7:00ish I think.

I am wondering if someone would be able to suggest a landbased spot to go to where there will be some water. I know at low tide in some areas the water level can be really low.

That would be great!

Thanks
John

Low tide all along the foreshore is really low. Not many spots around here, try the Manly Jetty but the wind will kill that idea fast.
Rock wall at Manly harbour - Cast towards the harbour (bream, flathead etc no whiting)
If you like getting stuck a foot deep in mud walk out from the park at lota and walk to the channel for flathead at low tide.
Not many places to go around here if you are landbased.

Seriously walk the banks of the Shultz canal from the car park to the golf course, its the only low tide area I know that fires.
You could try banks around the Hornibrook, few have luck their around low.

You could also walk right out on the flats of Nudgee beach for whiting and flathead, might be interesting.
Or walk right out on the flats at Wello point, few whiting around there.

I have seen people fishing on the flats at Manly/Wynum too, but you gotta walk out.

I think your best bet is walking right out on the flats somewhere and fishing light.
Pack your sunscreen, take a rod that is long and will cast well.
