i just bought a terez 7'2" medium lite spin for chucking poppers and lures up to say 120g.i have match it with a 4500 phantom daiwa and 30 lb braid,mostly for the rocks and boat.the problem is i'm not sure if i overdone the limit of the rod wich is 30lb.at first i was thinking it would be ok so i could go to 40gm slugs if i needed.and or the 4500 is too big for it.i was getting green lights from the dealer and was told it would be able to dead lift 10kg fish, i'm not so sure. ive read only good things about these rods,ive yet to take it out and am unsure now about the match, any opinion appreciated.pete

I don't own one but 120gm is alot of weight on whats a med/light classed rod.I would guess that your 40gm would be closer to the max lure weight. Leigh

I have the same rod with a Daiwa Catalina 4500 and it works well as my snapper rod which I float line for.

took the rod on a trip to greencape this weekend and was pleased with its performance,it handled all the lures with ease but was more suited to the 80gm range.the rod loaded nicely and recovered very fast after the cast, wich gave more distance.the 90gm popper i used was still easy to cast and got good distances from the rocks, but for the lighter lures say 30gm is a little to heavy and struggled to chuck these with any distance.the rod starts to perform at about 40-45gm all the way up to say 90gm over that and its working too hard.a nice light rod that you can cast all day with.the 4500 is not over heavy for the rod but a 3500 would be ideal. so i'm happy with my purchase.
